Steve is enjoying a long and creative career spanning many disciplines in music, art and technology. Working as a synthesizer programmer, studio musician, keyboard player, vocalist, video producer, sound engineer, creative director, visual artist, user interface expert and web designer. He is now able to smash all of these technologies and techniques together to create something new and exciting.
"Steve is a wonderful musician, singer, writer and visual artist with continuing breakthroughs in sonic and visual domains. There is no clear line of sight telling us where his creativity in visual art will venture next. Quite frankly, he has been breaking new untapped ground in this new art form and I can't wait to see where he goes next in his creative journey.”
- Fred Mollin - Record Producer, Musical Arranger, Songwriter, Film Composer, former VP of A&R for Disney Music

Steve was born in California and grew up in a a small town in Northern California. From an early age, he displayed a vivid imagination and an intuitive feel for sound and color. Encouraged by his parents Steve began experimenting with electronics, visual art and music in childhood. He learned music first on the trombone in school and later turned to piano and synthesizers. His creative passions led him to pursue formal education in music. In 1982 he moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music culminating in his graduation with honors . While there he deepened his mastery of electronic music, jazz composition, production, theory, and performance.

While living in Boston Steve performed with several local bands culminating in a five year run as the musical half of New England’s top musical duo. After Berklee, Steve’s career became a tapestry of interdisciplinary creativity, earning praise for his surrealistic drawings and paintings while absorbing regional styles and artistic influences across the U.S. and beyond. His music—rooted in jazz but infused with experimental, rock and world-music elements—earned him a cult following, while his visual art, often dreamlike and deeply emotive, was exhibited in both galleries and underground venues. Steve often integrated his music and art in multimedia installations, creating immersive experiences that defied description, inviting viewers to feel rather than analyze, refusing to be pigeonholed by any single medium or movement.

In 1989 Steve was hired by Ray Kurzweil to compose some electronic demonstration music for the Kurzweil keyboard synthesizer professional product line, and was subsequently hired as Director of Artist Relations and Tech Support. It was during the next seven years he was able to meet and work with many famous recording artists. In 1995 he had his first digital 3D art exhibit at "The State Of The World Forum" in San Francisco titled "The Music Of The Spheres". During that time Steve worked with many prominent artists in the recording studio as a programmer and also dabbled in film scoring and commercials. "My last corporate job was as Web Creative Director for a large IT recordkeeping firm supporting major banks and financial institutions. Now, I'm done with cubicle life!"

It was in early 1993 when Steve began experimenting with early visual music ideas and images using the computer, synthesizers and video animation/motion graphics. Two years later his exhibit "Music Of The Spheres" was recognized by the Gorbachev Foundation, and Steve was selected as Digital Fine Artist to exhibit at the 1995 State Of The World Forum in San Francisco. The following year he created his first visual music composition titled "Low Tide" as an experiment. His next visual music composition "Novus Galacticus" used surreal 3D images, geometric shapes and fractals juxtaposed with a "sonic landscape" to create an otherworldly experience. Since then Steve has created dozens of visual music pieces, all different. He continues to explore the boundaries of this exciting new art form.

"One of the sincerest pleasures I've had in fifty-five years in the music profession was to be able to work alongside Steve. His talent is outstanding, and he brings with him a spirit and enthusiasm that is inspirational. He is constantly exploring new and original art forms, and has a consuming interest in quality reflecting a serious attitude about his craft. Small wonder that his efforts gain the utmost respect from professionals at the highest level."
- Sammy Nestico - Arranger, Composer, Grammy Nominee, Music Director at the White House 1963-1968, Arranger for the Count Basie Orchestra

Now unleashed into these visual and sonic landscapes, Steve is a vibrant and prolific forward looking force in both the art and music worlds. He continues to compose, record, and exhibit, working on several ongoing projects that explore themes of memory, transformation, time and space, and the subconscious imagination. Though technology and the industry continue to change dramatically over time, Steve’s commitment to authenticity and emotional depth has kept his work resonant and vital. Whether performing an intimate jazz set or unveiling a new series of artworks, he brings the same curiosity and sincerity that marked his earliest creative efforts. His life stands as a testament to the power of staying true to one’s vision across a lifetime of exploration.
